Who should feature on our Alternative Media List?

Who should feature on our Alternative Media List?

by August 17, 2011

We are on the hunt for talented individuals to feature in the third edition of our Who’s Who’s: Alternative Media list.

As usual we have a  broad remit, and we want to celebrate talent from ethnically diverse backgrounds those with disabilities, and from working-class communities, in fact anyone you think is from or has worked successfully with communities often under-represented in mainstream media. Nominee’s should have an minimum of 5 years experience within the industry or have produced award recognized work.

Last month The MediaGuardian produced it’s Media100 list and disappointingly  not one visible diverse talent made it to the list and not one woman made it to the top ten. Rather than moan lets celebrate the contribution we made to the industry in the last year.

Who should we feature in this year’s Alternative Media List? Who do you consider has had a major cultural influence over the past year? Who has had real financial and decision making clout? and or has truly proven the commercial and creative value of diversity through the content they have produced?

Please nominate, by telling us who you are nominating for and why. And of course you can nominate yourself once you fit the criteria above.
