Then join us on 14th May for our Career Breakfast Seminar at BBC’s Broadcasting house. This special breakfast events featuring our very special guests Career gurus – Simon Wright Group Head of Talent at The Mill, and Donna Taberer the Head of BBC Academy’s College of Production.
Donna who oversees the wide range of training on offer to the BBC’s 23,000 staff, was previously Head of Entertainment and Features at Channel 5, a Commissioner in Entertainment at Sky 1 and Deputy Controller, BBC Factual and Learning.
She will be on hand to give key advice on affordable ways to keep your skills up to date, training bursaries currently available and I also hear she has details of the latest job on offer at the beeb and who the best people are to get in contact with!
Simon Wright who has recently left the beeb as their talent manager, working in both bbc documentaries and their online division. Simon set up ‘Vision’ the BBC intake pool which won the Creative Diversity network award for “best diversity initiative ” for substantially changing the diversity of the bbc staff base. He ran the BBC Production Trainee scheme and the BBC Production Talent Pool and believes that talent comes in all forms and difference is good. With over ten years experience working in TV– He’ll be right at home with us then!
Simon will be offering tips for dealing with difficult people, how to deal with rejection and to help increase your resilience as well as the regular CV and networking advice. A must if you want to survive as a freelancer!
