The Screen Nation Awards is the UK’s definitive benchmark for black British talent in film and television. Dubbed ‘the Black Bafta’s’, the Awards attracts the cream of British and international stars and has a dedication to excellence and a long standing commitment to celebrating diversity unlike others that will not be mentioned.
The Screen Nation Awards 2016 takes place on Saturday 19th March in the grand surroundings of the Hilton London Metropole and is hosted by TV favourite BRENDA EMMANUS alongside the crown prince of UK comedy KOJO, (Love Fix, ITV). This year’s leading honourees are acting pioneer, CARMEN MUNROE, Godmother of black British TV and one of the stars of Desmond’s fame,
Hollywood action star WESLEY SNIPES, and Classic Movies NEW JACK CITY, MO’ BETTER BLUES and THE FIVE HEARTBEATS (all 25 years old), stunning classic WAITING TO EXHALE (20 years old) and not forgetting the seminal British reggae movie BABYLON (35th anniversary) with all the stars in attendance.
The ceremony will feature the cream of the black British film & TV scene alongside established mainstream stars from the worlds of sport, music, fashion media and entertainment. Former Olympic champions, gold medallists, Premiership footballers and others will be amongst the many surprise guest presenters bringing added glamour to the night.
