BBC’s head of creative diversity resigns

Abeyie’s appointment followed a string of much-publicised departures of women of colour from BBC news and the corporation’s D&I department, including June Sarpong, Debbie Ramsay, Helier Cheung, Rozina Breen, Miranda Wayland, and Simone Byrne.

Head of Bectu Philippa Childs said: “The turnover in these roles in UK broadcasters is really concerning to us at bectu and begs the question, is there a real commitment to long term and meaningful structural change?”
