Ava Hall sets out Africa Channel’s content priorities and growth plans

Ava Hall, head of content and brand at The Africa Channel, spoke about the US-based cable network’s aim of expanding its acquisitions and originals slate, growing its streaming service and reaching new territories, including Brazil.

The Africa Channel is on the look-out to further broaden its slate of scripted and unscripted acquisitions and originals partnerships, according to recently appointed head of content and brand Ava Hall.

A core mission for the US-based cable network is bringing contemporary Pan-African content to black North American audiences, as well as to a wider African diaspora through its digital streaming service, Demand Africa.

The company is also looking to expand its international footprint in Brazil with free, ad-supported streaming TV and possibly linear cablenets, as well as boosting local Brazilian content on its platform.
