Samir Shah expected to become BBC chair

Reports suggest veteran TV exec and Juniper TV chief will succeed Richard Sharp.  

Veteran TV exec Samir Shah looks set to be the next BBC chair, taking over from Richard Sharp who stepped down earlier this year.  

The 71-year-old, who is boss of What British Muslims Really Think indie Juniper TV, has held numerous BBC positions including head of political programmes and current affairs in the nineties, and non-executive board director.  

In May, Shah was appointed as one of the leaders of the BBC’s thematic review into the way it reports on migration output.
