ITV selects regional indies for pilot scheme

Made Up in Belfast indie among five shops to get cash and commissioner pairing

Belfast’s Afro Mic Productions and Brighton’s Bowled Over Media are among five regional indies selected for ITV’s pilot scheme Amplify: The Regions, Broadcast can reveal.

ITV unveiled the development scheme in September, with the ambition to accelerate its relationships outside of London.

It will do so by offering each indie £5,000 to develop their ideas and matching them with genre commissioners with the chance to pitch to a brief.

ITV entertainment commissioning editor Louise Major has been paired with Afro Mic (Made Up in Belfast) and Bowled Over (Narrow Escapes), as well as Bristol’s Drummer TV (Humza: Forgiving the Unforgivable).
