Channel 4 preps slate of major films on Israel-Gaza conflict

Docs ordered from Amos Films, Basement Films and Marcel Mettelsiefen’s Duskwater.

Channel 4 has commissioned a trio of films from leading documentary makers exploring the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas-controlled Gaza.  

Each of the three documentaries is said to feature “unrivalled access” to areas of the conflict that have been largely off-limits to global media.  

C4 chief content officer Ian Katz said docs from Amos Films, Basement Films and Duskwater underpin the PSB’s commitment to “finding new ways” to take viewers to the centre of the world’s most complex and contested stories.  

Broadcast understands the films are also an example of C4 being prepared to commission projects of scale despite the spending constraints it has operated under for many months.
