ITV reveals latest diversity commissioning spend

Social Impact Report outlines broadcaster’s work around diversity, climate action and mental wellbeing.  

ITV has laid out its progress on climate action, wellbeing and diversity, declaring that it spent £22.8m of its three-year diversity commissioning pot last year. 

The 2023 figure is a reduction on the 31.4m spent in 2022 when the funds were first being distributed. It means that ITV still has £25.8m left in the ringfenced £80m pot to spend this year. 

The investment is designed to drive change towards racial and disability equity in TV production.It has seen 62 diverse creatives going into more senior production roles as a result of ITV’s Step Up 60 programme and 21 up-and-coming diverse writers take part in writer’s initiatives.
