13 indies join Indielab accelerator programme

Caravan, Esmerelda Productions and Roast Beef Productions among this year’s cohort.

Thirteen indies have been selected for Indielab’s TV accelerator programme which is now in its ninth year.

The programme helps indies fast-track their businesses and will run until the end of June. This year bursary places have been provided by Screen Scotland and Sony Pictures TV for regional or diverse indies meeting the relevant criteria and the programme is also supported by the BBC and Channel 4.

The 2024 cohort comprises; Bluebird Pictures, Born This Way Media, Caravan, Colliderscope, Dabster Productions, Envision Entertainment, Esmerelda Productions, Friel Kean Films, North Bridge Media, Polari, Roast Beef Productions, Sylver Entertainment and Witchery Pictures.

Between them the thirteen indies produce a broad range of content including scripted, unscripted, feature docs, current affairs, music, specialist factual, kids, comedy and primetime entertainment formats. Significantly, some of the participants prioritise unheard and under-represented voices, both on and off-screen, while some focus on creating regional and purpose-driven content.

The 2024 programme will be delivered through a mix of virtual and in-person bespoke masterclasses and seminars from leading industry experts including Sarb Nijjer (Banijay), Kenton Allen (Big Talk), Priya Singh (ITV), Andy Harries (Left Bank), Dhanny Joshi (Big Deal Films), and Nicola Hill (The Orchard).
