ITV media and entertainment to undergo major restructure

Division will be split into four pillars as part of efficiency programme to include redundancies.

ITV’s media and entertainment division will be restructured to usher in greater integration of ITVX, as part of the broadcaster’s restructuring and efficiency programme.

An email from the division’s managing director Kevin Lygo, seen by Broadcast, outlined the strategy behind the reorganisation, which will see some roles reallocated to new teams and others cut from the business.

There will be four pillars of the M&E division: Content, Viewing, Commercial, and Operations

Content will be led by M&E content director Ro Newell, and will focus on acquiring, commissioning and scheduling programming. It will be made up of the commissioning and acquisitions teams, scheduling and content curation and content strategy. News and current affairs, which will not be affected by the restructure, sits within the Content pillar and its director, Michael Jermey, will continue to report to Lygo.

Viewing will bring together the marketing, product, distribution and insights teams for a new pillar known as ‘viewer experience’ and wil be led by Jane Stiller in the newly created role of chief viewer officer.
