Broadcast Digital Awards 2024 

Excitement is building as the Broadcast Digital Awards 2024 shortlist has been announced, highlighting the year’s best in digital broadcasting. Celebrating innovation and excellence, the awards recognise outstanding achievements across a variety of categories, including Best Digital Channel, Best Use of Social Media, and Best Original Web Series.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for July 3rd at The Brewery in London. Among the nominees for the comedy award at the 2024 Broadcast Digital Awards are groundbreaking shows like Dreaming Whilst Black and Such Brave Girls, both hailed for their innovation.

BBC comedies dominate the category, with four entries making the list alongside two from ITVX. BBC contenders include Dreaming Whilst Black by Big Deal Films, Such Brave Girls and Juice by Various Artists Limited, and Things You Should Have Done by Roughcut TV. They’re joined by Count Abdulla from Fudge Park and G’wed from Golden Path Productions, aired on ITVX.

In the Best Drama Programme category, Apple TV+ productions take the lead with three series in contention: Slow Horses from See-Saw Films, Hijack from 60Forty Films & Idiotlamp Productions, and Criminal Record from Tod Productions & STV Studios. Other contenders include Grime Kids from Mammoth Screen, The Winter King from Bad Wolf, and Then You Run from Kudos & MadeFor.

Channel of the Year will see BBC3, CBBC, Channel 4.0, More 4, Sky News, and Sky Sports Main Event competing. Meanwhile, the Best Multichannel Production Company award could go to Air TV, Firecrest Films, Full Fat TV, Quay St Productions, Spirit Studios, or Woodcut Media.
