THAMES-DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Thames Television is looking for an experienced Development Executive to join their development team.

ROLE:                 DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

DATES:              START ASAP FOR 6 MONTHS INITIALLY

BASE:                CENTRAL LONDON

About the role:

  • You would report into the Director of Development, assisting them in managing the team, including running specific development projects and generally ensuring the slate moves forward.
  • You would be tasked with creating and developing ideas across the entertainment spectrum, reflecting Thames’ broad output of shows. What’s the next Family Fortunes, Britain’s Got Talent or Too Hot to Handle?
  • You would play a key role in identifying international formats that have potential in the UK and developing them – this could be from within the Fremantle international network but also outside of it. You would also be a key point of contact for international teams within the Fremantle network.
  • You would play a key role working up materials for pitches, alongside leading pitches, both internally and externally.

The Ideal Candidate would be:

  • A collaborative, positive ‘team player’, just as happy delegating tasks to team members as they are getting stuck in themselves.
  • Comfortable and experienced leading teams, managing workloads and hitting deadlines
  • Good at noting pitch decks, treatments and sizzles created by the team and where necessary designing them yourself.
  • Experienced developing and creating a variety of different entertainment formats, from quiz to talent to reality.
  • Experienced pitching to UK Entertainment commissioners across linear and streaming platforms, and able to point to relationships with commissioners
  • Able to point to commissions where they have played a key part in the idea’s generation, development and pitch process

Further Info:

  • Candidates invited for interview may be asked to perform a couple of bespoke tasks to help assess suitability for the role.
  • Salary is negotiable based on experience
  • Contract length is 6 months initially, with a view to moving towards a long term contract
